Suzuki Method Violin Lessons
The Jerry Evans School of Music is now offering a brand new high energy Suzuki Strings Class for preschool and kindergarten aged children that want to learn to play the Violin in a group setting. Taught by Dr. Nabaz Abuhakir, and based upon the world internationally acclaimed Suzuki method, the class will meet weekly for 1 hour. The class time will consist of 45 minutes of fun and interactive instruction followed by 15 minutes of parental involvement at the end of the class where the students can play what they have learned.
This fun and interactive class is based initially on the Suzuki-based approach of learning the instrument and music by ear. Once the basics of the Violin and of music have been taught and learned, basic note reading on the musical staff will be introduced as well. Although the class is Suzuki based, it will include material from other approaches as well.
In this fun and nurturing Violin group class, your child will not only learn to play the Violin along with his/her classmates but will also take part in fun and interactive games to reinforce what they have learned and the development of their overall musicianship.
At the end of each semester, there will be an opportunity for the students to play Violin together in a recital to show off to friends and family what they have learned.
The Suzuki Strings Class is a perfect place to start for young students who would like to play Violin or another string instrument, but for those who want to excel as the musical leaders in their orchestras and schools in the future.
