Cello Lessons in Wheaton

The Jerry Evans School of Music seeks to be one of the top Strings Programs in all of Chicagoland, and provides excellent Cello instruction to students of any skill level. Whether playing in school orchestra, solo, in an audition orchestra, in a rock band, or just for fun at home, students will receive a thorough Cello education in an environment of excellence and fun.

The JESM strings program empowers musicians using proper fundamentals, a core curriculum designed to fit each student’s needs, and helping students connect to music where they can also play music that they choose. From J.S. Bach, to Antonio Vivaldi, to Ludwig Van Beethoven, to the Suzuki method, to Movie themes, to Pop/Rock music, or even Bluegrass, a student can learn it at the JESM. Your student will excel in their school’s orchestra program as our Instructor will work hand in hand with the music of your student’s orchestra teacher.  Our Instructor can utilize multiple string method programs in their teaching, and can also utilize the Suzuki method if the parent/student desires.

Cello Lessons cover all or part of the following information based on the students’ level, needs, and goals:

Music Fundamentals: Reading music/sight reading, basic music theory, playing by ear, tone development.

Technique: Instrument position, fingering, posture, bowing technique, etc.

Musicality: Understanding the dynamics and interpretation of music, etc.

Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to show off their musical skills and play their favorite music in concerts, recitals, or live gigs!
