Your son or daughter just told you that they want to take drum lessons. They get excited whenever they hear drums, they love its sound, and they keep begging you to learn.

You might have thought – “No way! Drums are too loud!” Well, I have great news for you. Playing the drums doesn’t have to be. “What?” you might ask, “How could drums not be that loud?” Well, here’s how drum lessons can be a quieter option for your family:

1. After buying your drum set, buy special quiet mesh drum heads and special cymbals from your local music store. These special heads are pretty quiet, and the cymbals are too. These have the same feel of real drum heads but a fraction of the volume, and can make it very easy to have in a home.

2. Keep the normal drum heads and cymbals on your drums, but put the drums in the garage or a basement room and take some time to insulate it to keep the sound from traveling to the rest of the house. This will take some time and effort, but it can be done! It drastically reduces the sound everyone hears.

3. While this is not the best option, consider buying an electronic drum set. You can then plug in some headphones, and the only person hearing them will be the drummer.

In the end, getting a drum set and taking drum lessons does not have to force everyone out of your house because of noise. It can be done while keeping everyone’s sanity. Taking drum lessons is fun, enjoyable, and rewarding. Just bring a fun attitude and a desire to enjoy yourself, and taking drum lessons can be a great success for your student!

Also, playing drums and taking drum lessons can have a large impact on the education of young students. It can help a student raise their IQ, grades, test scores, confidence, develop multi-tasking ability, enjoy themselves, and much more!
