Chamber Strings Ensemble Wheaton
The Jerry Evans School of Music offers a Chamber Strings Ensemble for students wanting to hone their skills in a smaller and higher-level ensemble. This is an auditioned ensemble for talented young string players seeking to be more challenged. Directed by Joshua Zajac, this ensemble will meet once a week for one hour.
The Chamber Strings Ensemble provides a challenging and friendly atmosphere for musical growth for young people. This weekly class is a fantastic way to create a solid foundation in classical orchestra technique and etiquette, and the Chamber Strings Ensemble will prepare students for the rigor of college symphony orchestras and pit orchestras. The weekly rehearsals will focus on technical development, ensemble uniformity, and musical interpretation. The professional repertoire will consist of standard masterpieces such as Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, modern works such as John Rutter’s Suite for Strings, and film score medley’s from movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, and more. At the end of each season, the Chamber Strings Ensemble will give a recital to showcase their work and accomplishments.
